Due to some complications with OpenCollectiveEurope, our previous payment partner, we’ve had to find a new way for you to pay your annual membership for Alversjö. Our treasurer, Christian, has set up a Stripe account for this purpose, which will serve as the basis for managing our memberships going forward.

We hope you remember when your current membership expires, and will sign up again via the new system. Otherwise, we would be happy if you didn’t worry too much about the exact date and just did it straight away so you don’t forget.

As every year the farmers brought some of their young cows and bulls to the pasture near the Bison. Usually it's only bulls grazing there over some months but this year it's a mixed herd. When they arrived they seemed very happy to be here and as you can see on the top image they love the bison.

You can still walk over the grass land and visit the bison or the tree house but you might meet some curious animals that are following you. The might come close and usually they are friendly but as they are quite big animals and could suddenly be disturbed by something we recommend to rather keep some distance. Especially when you come with small kids don't let them go to them alone.

Some months ago Heinz has started an advice process for an idea he had with the slope that is crossing the big field in the middle of our land. This discussion has resulted in more detailed conversation with people who support this idea and already a first contact with Länstyrelse who would also fund this with some money for diversity and agroforestry.

As it is a part of the land that is currently rented out to the farmers we had a meeting with them where we presented this idea. As expected they were not super happy about it and also didn't have a clear No to it. They would need to adapt when driving with their big tractors and on the future area they could also let the cows graze. We also spoke about skipping their rent and finding other ways of collaboration, also about more organic farming and not turning the soil every few years.

Next step would be to make an official application for funding and repurposing the land. If you are interested to be involved in a work group for this project please join the discussion on Discord.

Until recently it was still to cold during the nights to turn on the water on the Square but Mårten and Lova have already prepared their water fountain art piece and upgraded it a bit. In the next weeks the municipality will check our well and water system and we hope to be able to install all water taps at the Valborg WiP weekend so we can start to take drinking water from there.

Here is some ideas if you want to come for the WiP weekend over Valborg.

• continue painting HQ
• find windows and a door for HQ and install
• find 5m roof ladder and install on roof of HQ
• continue installing all dry boards on ceiling in barn
• finish spackling and sanding of dry walls
• tile bathrooms
• paint bathrooms, hallway and kitchen
• when kitchen is finished AND clean move shelves from temporary kitchen to the new dry storage corner
• finish installation of doors to road side from hallway and in living room
• help Christopher finish the pizza oven at Square
• build a house over the well
• build new entrance for water basement
• move fire wood to shed near machine hall
• move gravel to back of barn and make path
• pick out weed in Secret Garden and the Square
• clean truck from rust, fix holes and spray with new paint
• keep bathrooms and kitchen clean
• ...
